Clearing a Decade of Skin Troubles

A decade-long battle with eczema was addressed through Virechana and Raktmokshan therapies, bringing lasting clarity and comfort.

Patient
Meera S., 34
Condition
Chronic Eczema
Treatment
60 Days
Outcome
Significant Improvement

Meera had been dealing with persistent eczema patches on her arms and neck for over ten years. The condition would flare up seasonally and with stress, leaving her frustrated after years of steroid creams and antihistamines that only offered temporary relief.

At SAP Hospital, the physicians diagnosed a Pitta-Kapha imbalance with accumulated toxins (Ama) in the blood and lymphatic tissue. The treatment approach combined two Panchkarma procedures: Virechana (therapeutic purgation) to clear Pitta-related toxins from the liver and gut, followed by Raktmokshan (blood purification therapy).

The first phase involved internal oleation with medicated ghee for seven days, gradually increasing the dosage. This was followed by Virechana, which helped expel accumulated toxins from the gastrointestinal tract. Meera was then given a specific Pathya (therapeutic diet) to support her digestive fire during recovery.

In the second month, targeted Raktmokshan sessions were administered along with external applications of herbal pastes and medicated oils. Internally, she was prescribed a course of blood-purifying herbal formulations.

By the end of the treatment, the eczema patches had reduced by over 80%. More importantly, the seasonal flare-ups stopped. Meera continues to follow the dietary guidelines and herbal supplements prescribed, maintaining healthy skin over a year later.
