- Major Improvement
Kavita had been managing chronic bronchitis and mild asthma for over six years. Seasonal changes would trigger severe coughing fits, breathlessness, and chest congestion. She was dependent on inhalers and antibiotics, with each winter bringing a new cycle of infections.
At SAP Hospital, the physicians identified a deep Kapha imbalance with accumulated Ama (toxins) in the respiratory channels. The treatment centered around Vaman (therapeutic emesis), the Panchkarma procedure specifically designed for Kapha-dominant conditions affecting the lungs and upper respiratory tract.
The preparatory phase included seven days of internal oleation with medicated ghee, followed by specific Kapha-liquefying herbs and steam inhalation with eucalyptus and tulsi-infused water. This prepared the accumulated mucus for expulsion through the Vaman procedure.
After the Vaman procedure, Kavita underwent a course of Dhumapana (medicated herbal smoking therapy) using specially prepared herbal wicks. This helped clear residual congestion from the bronchial passages. She was also given Kantakari and Vasa-based herbal formulations to strengthen lung tissue.
By the end of 40 days, Kavita's dependency on inhalers had reduced significantly. She went through the following winter without a single bronchitis episode for the first time in years. Her breathing capacity improved noticeably, and she continues with the maintenance herbal protocol prescribed at discharge.
